EU open day
On the 5th of May 2018, the European Union will have their open day in the institutions! On this day you can discover everything from EU careers to the European Year of Cultural Heritage, from interpreting languages to learning what the EU has to offer for you!

Europe in Perspective
A new initiative called “Europe in Perspective” has been created by the BKJ from Germany and the international foundation Creativity, Culture and Education (CCE). The initiative focuses on transnational professional development opportunities to strengthen the capacities for those working in schools and non-formal arts and cultural education. Through this project, they hope to develop more intercultural understanding and European awareness through training courses.

Computing toolkit
Recently, a toolkit was posted on the I-LINC community platform which contains computer science resources to help teachers create learning opportunities for their students. Examples of how to use these resources and links to other resources are included in the toolkit.

PBL- approaches now available
Plans for a Project based learning (PBL) approach towards the development of key competencies for students has been made available on the School Education Gateway. On the website, several plans can be found which help your students to develop the 21st Century Key Competencies.

Deadline extension
The deadline for the Grundtvig Award applications has been extended! The Award will be given in three different categories: European projects, a project from outside of Europe, and national or regional projects.
The new deadline is the 22nd of April 2018, more information can be found here.
Survey alert
Cedefop has launched a new anonymous survey to find your views on the future of Vocational Education and Training (VET). The survey is on major trends within different European countries between 1995 and 2015 in VET, through this the Cedefop hopes to validate preliminary findings and set parameters in the development of scenarios for VET in 2035.
The survey is aimed at experts from various institutional backgrounds and can be found here.
Join the #Ode2Joy challenge
Join the challenge and perform the original or create your own #OdetoJoy at a heritage site that you find beautiful, strange, amazing or just cool. Record your creation and share it on social media from the 9th of May onwards (which is Europe Day by the way!). Don’t forget to use the hashtag #Ode2Joy and tag Europa Nostra!

EPALE conference in Austria
On the 21st of June 2018, the conference “Upskilling Pathways – Equal opportunities and participation through adult education” will take place in Vienna. The conference will be held in English and German and has no attendance fee.
