Play, Learn, Improve: EGIDEV Game Testing Week in Portugal
Earlier this April, the DOREA team had the opportunity to travel to Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal, to take part in a dynamic training week for the Erasmus+ KA2 project EGIDEV – Educational Game in Digital Entrepreneurship for VET Students. Hosted by our partners at Epralima, the four-day training brought together project partners and local VET students to dive deep into the updated version of the EGIDEV board game. The aim? To test the game in real-life educational settings, gather feedback, and explore how it can best support entrepreneurship education across Europe.
Piloting the Game with Portuguese VET Students
One of the most valuable aspects of the training was the opportunity to test the game directly with local VET students. These playtesting sessions allowed us to observe how young learners interacted with the game mechanics and content. The students’ reactions, ideas, and honest feedback provided us with meaningful insights. Their input is now being used to refine the game further, ensuring it is both engaging and educational for diverse learning environments.
The training week also demonstrated the real potential of game-based learning in fostering critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork – all essential skills for young entrepreneurs. The EGIDEV game doesn’t just teach business concepts – it creates a collaborative, interactive space where learners can experience the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship firsthand.
What’s Next for EGIDEV?
Following the training, the DOREA team and other partners are working to incorporate the feedback received into the final version of the game. Updated materials will soon be available for educators, trainers, and youth workers interested in using the game as part of their entrepreneurship education programmes.
