ICT for Educators: Empower Your Skills

Description:  In response to rapid changes in technology and methodologies of teaching tools, there is a need for radical change to take place for ICT to be fully exploited in teaching and learning. As stated in “Survey of schools: ICT in Education” teachers still believe that insufficient ICT equipment is the biggest obstacle to ICT use in many countries. However, teacher training in ICT is rarely compulsory and most teachers devote spare time to private study. Thus this 5 days training course is focused to provide the most important information and hands-on practical tools that are needed for educators.

  • Reflections of the day, discussion

Wednesday

  • Let’s talk about social media: Facebook, Blogs, Websites, Forums, Podcasting and others
  • Practical exercises in designing and creating a blog
  • Online information resources: encyclopaedia, libraries, journals, magazines, MOOCs
  • Reflections of the day, discussion

Thursday

  • Combination of video, photo and social media to teach
  • How can I use ICT tools in practice? – the action plan
  • Reflections of the day, discussion
  • Summary and course evaluation

Friday

  • Cultural excursion in the local area
Competences Acquired by Participants

Specific objectives of the seminar are:

  • Raise awareness of technological development in teaching and learning
  • Introduce overview of European policy in ICT use in education
  • Improve the participants’ personal and professional skills in teaching
  • Provide skills and tools to incorporate ICT in educator’s everyday teaching
  • Enhance the participant’s ability to adapt to changes
  • Help the participants to identify the most suitable approaches in the use of ICT
  • Create a cross-cultural environment to discuss and exchange ideas with colleagues

Please note that ‘All in one – single room’ and ‘All in one – double room’ packages are being offered in all locations except London, Dublin, Barcelona, Athens, Porto, Lyon, Split and Pisa, where we have only the ‘Basic’ course package.

  • Accommodation - double room sharing in a 3 or 4-star hotel (6 nights)
  • Full Board (5 days)
  • Administration costs
  • Coffee Breaks
  • Cultural visit

*Choose double room sharing if you are 2 colleagues from the same organisation willing to share a double room/ or if you have any accompanying person travelling to the venue of the course together with you (we can arrange the accommodation for accompanying persons as well).

       3. ‘BASIC’ course PACKAGE - 450€

Note: separate invoices for the training fee only (400 EUR) can be issued upon request from the organisation.
