2nd meeting in Poland: Developing lesson plans
The “REaCT” project is under the umbrella of Erasmus+ with the main aim is to develop a handbook addressed to stakeholders involved in adult education providing a 15 lesson plan on tolerance and non-discrimination towards migrants, combining the best European practices. The partners involved are FIRRIP (Poland), LUETEC (Italy), IDEC (Greece), DOREA (Cyprus) and PREVIFORM (Portugal).
From 26th till 28th of March the second project meeting took place in Krakow, Poland.
1st day
During the first day, all the partners presented and shared the best practices Poland: Interkulturalni. Italy: Labs of Peace. Cyprus: Hope for Children, Cardet and Aequitas.
Group also discussed the and presented possible Icebreaking games with 3 groups: 1) Vera (CY), Betty (GRE) and Giovani (ITA); 2) Anna (CY), Giovana (ITA) and Rafael (POR); 3) Anastasia (GRE), Olivia (POR) and Ioanna (PL).
Furthermore, introduction to the 6 Thinking Hats Method and its multiple application potentials was presented by project coordinators – FIRRIP. Later all the participants had practical exercise with the premise: “Based on the latest terrorist attack in Paris, how can we manage to stop prejudice and bad reactions towards that specific migrant group’s presence in the country?”.
2nd day
DOREA Educational Institute represented by Anna and Vera made a presentation about advocacy and debates, showing the examples of practical dynamics/exercises and discussion about their potential as educational tools.
Later that day, participants developed the lessons of tolerance – inclusive teaching of adults led by LUETEC partners. The team discussed the handbook’s structure, main guidelines and conceptual approach (entertainment and contamination).
Lastly, participants have met met Aleksandra Slusarczyk, the president of the Association of Repatriates in Poland.
3rd day
During the last day, the participants continued their discussion about the handbook’s structure and content, the content and organization of the 15 lesson plan as well as dissemination of the project, administrative issues and future development tasks.
To finish the meeting, the group visited the photography “Edukacja dla godności – Amnesty International” exhibition about the migrant’s situation in Lesbos island.
