Rethinking Assessment in the Age of AI

Self-Regulated & Cooperative Learning

Description: As artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation reshape education and the labour market, traditional assessment methods are no longer sufficient to capture what learners truly know and can do. This course supports educators in rethinking assessment practices to better reflect real-world challenges, deep learning, and future-ready competencies.

Participants will explore authentic, competency-based assessment approaches aligned with the 6Cs -Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Critical Thinking - while learning how to integrate AI transparently, ethically, and responsibly into assessment processes. Rather than focusing solely on outputs, the course emphasises assessing thinking, reflection, collaboration, and agency.

Through hands-on design activities, peer learning, and real-world scenarios, educators will gain practical tools to create assessments that promote student autonomy, adaptability, ethical AI use, and preparedness for the future of work.

This course completely changed the way I think about assessment. Instead of focusing on whether students used AI or not, I now feel confident designing tasks that value their thinking, collaboration and reflection.

As a coordinator, I’m often looking for approaches that are both pedagogically sound and realistic to implement. This course provided exactly that.
