From July 22 to July 26, 2024, in the vibrant city of Malmö, Sweden, BE YOU Training Course took place as a part of the Erasmus+ KA2 project Build Efficiently Your Own Understanding! (BE YOU). This impactful event brought together 15 dedicated youth workers from Sweden, Romania, Cyprus, Greece, and Poland to test and refine innovative methods aimed at reducing social and professional anxiety among Generation Z.
Engaging Activities and Insights
The training course combined mindfulness, self-awareness, and creative techniques, including:
- Exploring Vulnerability: Activities that encouraged openness and self-reflection, such as confessing personal truths in a safe environment.
- Mindfulness Practices: Meditation exercises like the “Five Senses Meditation” to help combat overthinking.
- Connection with Nature: A unique “forest” activity that fostered trust, self-confidence, and personal growth, followed by reflective dialogues with nature.
- Role-Playing Insights: NGO Larpifiers shared their expertise on live-action role-playing games (LARPs), showcasing how storytelling can build confidence and collaboration.
- Time Management Strategies: Partners from SEP contributed proven techniques to help manage time effectively.
Looking Ahead
Participants left Malmö feeling empowered, equipped with practical skills, and ready to support young people in navigating the challenges of social and professional life. As the BE YOU project progresses, the next training session in Krakow, Poland, from September 2 to 6, 2024, will finalize the development of the BE YOU Training Tool – a transformative resource designed to help Generation Z thrive.
