Eleni delivers training courses for personal development, business and soft skills to organizations around Europe. Through her long experience with NGOs, which goes back to 2004, she developed her interests in non-formal education, creativity, storytelling, applied improvisation and ecotherapy. Having worked for an NGO that helped refugee children, she has acquired insight of the critical issues and developments in this area and committed herself to offering her expertise in this cause.
Over the past years, she has trained children, students, volunteers, young adults, NGO staff , entrepreneurs and business executives from different countries with various cultural backgrounds.
Eleni has a university degree in Business Administration and a MSc. in Business Education. She believes that in order to achieve inner peace you need to balance your body, soul and mind. You can find her hiking, sailing, snorkeling, on the dance floor and anywhere she can spend a good time with friends.
Paul Rogers qualified as a teacher in the early 1970s and taught in the UK state system for ten years. He has been based overseas since the early 1980s, working with schools, universities, military training colleges and vocational training providers, in both the public and private sectors.
He took a Master of Science degree in the mid-1980s, a US Doctorate in the early 90s and has presented at various international conferences. Subjects covered included second language acquisition, online & blended learning, testing & evaluation, teacher training and educational leadership & management. Paul is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management and more recently, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
He has worked for Aston, Leeds and Southampton Universities in the UK, as well as the RAND Corporation in the USA as Programme Manager for Teacher Training in the Middle East. He has been employed by British Aerospace, the Centre for British Teachers and for the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Cyprus, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He was the founding Principal of a secondary school in Cyprus and of Qatar Skills Academy, a vocational college in Doha, the capital of the Gulf state of Qatar. He was appointed Headmaster of KYUEM, Malaysia’s premium A-Level College, in August 2013. During his five years of leadership, the college has continued to improve on its annual A-level results and in 2016 recorded the highest number of Oxford and Cambridge places in its 20-year history.
Paul is married to Eleni, a retired teacher and counsellor, and lives in Limassol, Cyprus. He enjoys reading, most aspects of IT, cricket, listening to all kinds of music, theatre, cinema and watching good TV.
Originally from Russia, based in the Czech Republic but living all around Europe, including Spain and Austria. Makes sense, Ivan is based in Erasmus Student Network (an organisation promoting mobility on principle students-helping-students). He has deep understanding and 6 years experience in volunteers management, youth work and intercultural learning. With a background in Chemical engineering (BA) and Economy and management (MA), Ivan has collected diverse work experience ranging from public institutions, through corporate giant Microsoft, to a cosy and innovative social start-up incubator. Nowadays he’s a freelance trainer, facilitator and host. For over 3 years he has been designing and delivering trainings, connecting individuals and reinforcing teams, hosting conversations in forums and meetings. His expertise is in servant leadership, personal and team development, communication, conflicts, intercultural learning, peace education. In his work, he believes in approach that is participatory, creative and holistic. Ivan is also qualified and involved in ESN Pool of Facilitators, UNOY Peacebuilders, Olde Vechte and Synergy network.
Xenia Koutentaki, is an adult educator specialized in non formal participatory learning approaches. She has been active in the youth and international voluntary movement since 1996. She has lived and worked in different countries all over the world i.e Italy, France, Germany, Serbia, Japan, Vietnam, Senegal, Iraq. Through these experiences she has developed her capacities of working efficiently with international and multicultural teams. She has a vast experience in developing long term education content for courses in a variety of topics. Topics include Human Rights Education, women empowerment and representation in the trade unions, intercultural competences of police and civil servants, training for trainers and facilitators for refugee children and youth, youth development, Sustainability, Networking and Gender Equality. She has worked with various local, national and international institutions and NGOs such as UNV, UN Summer Academy, Alliance of the European Voluntary Service Organisations, Ship for World Youth AA, National Workers’ Confederation of Greece, Hellenic Adult Education Association.
She lives up to the meaning of her name, “the one who protects and takes care of the foreigners” and she believes that offering people a caring environment and experience is a major facilitating factor of any learning process.
Damian is a passionate social entrepreneur with a background in Marketing and Operations. What drives him forward is personal growth and the journey towards self-actualization. The key thing is that he loves building relationships and establish partnerships no matter the industry. It’s all about the people and sharing the love.
He is a serial social entrepreneur which means that he just loves launching social businesses and solving problems. His biggest accomplishment is launching Social Hackers Academy an NGO that trains refugees in software engineering. His efforts lead to creating Migracode a pan-European consortium of NGOs which supports refugees with social integration.
He is a passionate trainer, consultant and avid blogger and pod caster and on his spare time he is travelling on a motorcycle and meets random people.
Argyris (MA Gender Anthropology and History, University of the Aegean, Mytilene, Greece) is a trainer of non-formal education and online tutor of Greek as a foreign language. He has been active in the educational sector since 2008, having worked in both the public (Serbia, Romania) and private sector (Greece, Lithuania, USA), delivering workshops, seminars and training courses, teaching languages, creating educational tools and content, training educators and providing them new tools, and guiding administrative staff through new routes of management.
For Argyris, education is a right for all humans, thus everyone who works in the educational sector, needs to be strong and confident enough to offer high quality services to all kinds of learners. To this direction, he does his best to provide new tools and methods, but mostly to empower educators and administrative personnel, so that they themselves can generate solutions for the learners’ needs.
Tharwat Jaber, holding MBA and CBA from Vancouver Canada. currently PhD laureate researching “Smart Specialisation Methods”.
Mrs. Jaber has more than 15 years of international work experience in business and nonprofits organisations in several disciplines, in Switzerland, Canada, Cyprus and Jordan. In her roles, she managed and developed strategies for several organisations. She is recognised as a vivid trainer in the fields of the Project Management, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration.
Mrs. Jaber career path took her across a magnitude of industries and countries including Consulting, Banking, Training, Humanitarian, Health, and TV networks. In her latest position Mrs. Jaber was the Executive Director of Business and Professional Women- Jordan Branch (BPWA), before that she was the Country Manager of AZ-International /Jordan Branch specialised in Consultation and Training. Mrs Jaber was the Assistant Manager for the CEO of Amman Stock Exchange. At UNHCR she was responsible for helping refugees to resettle through direct interaction with US, Canada, UK, Sweden, Finland and Australian authorises. She was exposed to several departments during her position at Housing & Finance Bank and was part of the Orbit-Showtime Broadcasting network billing department based in Cyprus. As a part of her PhD research, Mrs. Jaber is involved in academic and consultancy work in the area of innovation policies in Europe, she is currently working at EFIS Centre (European Future Innovation System) Brussels-Belgium, doing analysis on smart specialisation strategies.
Mrs. Jaber’s experience also reflects her strong engagement in the areas of social responsibility and voluntary work, she serves in many youth and women initiatives and task forces, she is highly articulate, confident and a persuasive team-builder, able to motivate and communicate knowledge to achieve exceptional business performance.
Elena Demetriou has studied English Language and Literature and she currently works as an English teacher for the last 4 years. She is greatly interested in photography, volunteerism, Erasmus+ and active youth participation. Her first experience in the fascinating world of volunteerism began in 2011 when she had conducted English workshops to Polish adults as part of her internship in Poland through the international student organisation AIESEC. Since then, she has been participating in a variety of training courses and youth exchanges and she has been supporting non-formal learning through her professional space and through collaboration with various NGOs around Cyprus. She is part of the Youth Ambassadors team of the Cyprus Youth Council responsible for enhancing the promotion of the European Structured Dialogue at a local level.
Some of her most important years were spent at Ministry of Education’s summer camp in Cyprus, taking care of primary school children. There she made a realization early on that it really does take a village to raise a child as she saw in practice how crucial the multifaceted input that was derived from the teamwork of teachers, cleaners, cooks and other staff members from all walks of life, was to uplifting and caring for those children. This lead to her to follow and seek an academic path that acknowledged the importance of taking a multidisciplinary and holistic approach when tackling problem solving in a manner that has long lasting and effective benefits.
Panayiotis Proestos was born in Dubai and he lives and work in Cyprus. He got his psychology BS’s at the St. Kliment Ohridki, Sofia University and continued with psychoanalytical and later integrative psychotherapy studies. He works privately in Nicosia and Limassol, has clinical experience in the public sector of Cyprus and Greece, worked with psychotherapeutic issues of people with disabilities, coordinated and participated EU funded projects on socially vulnerable groups. Panayiotis trained small and large groups of individuals on various subjects around psychology and also provides one-on-one consultation and training. Previously, he served his community as president and member at Cyprus Red Cross for migrants and psychosocial support committees and currently as vice-president at the Pancyprian Association of Psychologists.
He believes in humans and their abilities, his mind is full of questions, enjoys exercise in and out of the water and adores the sea and conscious living.
Heloisa studies different methodologies and best school practices around the world. As a teacher, she focuses on the real development of the students, socially and academically. She developed her interests in non-traditional education, creativity, storytelling, and design thinking.
Heloisa believes that every child is capable of learning if motivated, in a good environment and with the correct tools provided. She also believes in a more empathetic world, where education is truly transforming. You can find her reading, watching her son’s tennis games or spending some good time with friends and family.
Andreas (PhD in Materials Science, Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse) is at the moment an independent researcher working on various projects as an external advisor. Born in Nicosia in 1988, he is passionate about self-development and has from an early age tutored people in various stages of his life. This passion to transmit knowledge to different groups of people with different needs and characteristics has evolved by studying applying new interactive in combination with traditional methods to accomplish his goal.
He was the president for two years of a student group with over 50 members during his time as a student in the school of chemical engineering in the National Technical University of Athens bringing the group first in the student elections during these two years plus 1 more as an active member. During his PhD thesis, he was the sole representative of all the PhD students in his lab to the directorial board for 3 years.
Andreas believes that transmission of information and the learning curve for any subject can always be accelerated by modernizing our methods and applying various psychological and behavioural tactics suited for any group of people. He is also one of the founders of AA Transformations, a recently created team that gives personal development courses in Cyprus with plans for expansion globally later on.
Yuki has been a language trainer for many years. She first received a TEFL training and certification in her native country Indonesia in 1992, when she was a student of Japanese Studies at Padjadjaran University. Yuki worked as an English teacher at various branches of Yayasan LIA, a leading English Language Institution in Indonesia. She also worked at Institut Musik Daya Indonesia as an English lecturer. In Japan, during her further studies of Japanese Language, she worked at two English schools in Shizuoka: Small World and Kids Station. Upon returning to Indonesia she worked in various industries, but at the same time never left the training world – she carried on being involved in different aspects of language training – teaching, tutor training and developing materials. She is also a translator and interpreter; among her clients are NHK, ABC, UNICEF, the British Embassy in Indonesia. Yuki has lived in Australia and Japan, and for the last 8 years, she has been living in Ireland. In Ireland, she carried out Japanese Classes at Fingal County Council Library and private English classes to help children who just migrated to Ireland settle in their new school and environment. Yuki has just completed a training to become a tutor for Adult Literacy and will soon work as a volunteer at Meath and Louth Education and Training Board.
Helena has 14 years of experience as a free-lance trainer focused on personal and organisational/community development and long term programmes of non-formal education. She is involved in international Youth in Action/Erasmus+ programmes and runs own educational organisation Natural Spirit (www.naturalspirit.cz), which is focused on meaningful education in harmony with inner and outer nature. She works with individuals and groups also as a psychotherapist using Pesso-Boyden System Psychomotor. Her third working focus and passion is gardening.
Linda has over 20 years of experience in the field of Management Training. She was responsible for training managers in several UK national retailers, writing and presenting various courses including recruitment and appraisal interviewing, team management, train the trainer, presentation skills, time management and assertiveness techniques.
While running her own business, she presented similar courses for UK national companies, while also being a part time lecturer in a further educational establishment.
Linda loves finding the potential in all her candidates and believes that everyone should have the opportunity to develop lifelong skills, regardless of academic qualifications.
She has two sons and a daughter and four grandchildren. Living for the last 14 years in Cyprus, Linda loves traveling, having new experiences and meeting new people. She is particularly interested in ancient sites. Her hobbies include walking, international cuisine and crafts. She plays the piano, but not as well as she would like!
