How can universities better prevent online abuse and support women who face it?

DOREA Educational Institute is gathering views to help develop SAFE-HER, a proposed European project addressing technology-facilitated gender-based violence. This includes cyber-harassment, cyber-stalking, sharing intimate images without consent, AI-generated intimate images, sextortion and other forms of online abuse targeting women.

We want to hear from young women and the professionals who work with or support them. Your answers will help identify training needs, practical resources and ways to improve support within higher education.

Choose the questionnaire that applies to you:

For professionals

Approximately 7 minutes

For university staff, educators, youth workers and representatives of women’s organisations or specialist support services. Share your views on training needs, existing procedures and the resources that would help you in your work.

Complete the professionals’ questionnaire

For young women aged 18–35

Approximately 5 minutes

For young women, including students, who want to help improve online safety information, learning opportunities and support. You do not need to have experienced online abuse to participate.

Complete the young women’s questionnaire

Participation is voluntary and anonymous. The questionnaires do not ask you to describe personal experiences of violence. Please do not include names or identifiable details in your answers.

Responses will be summarised to inform the SAFE-HER project proposal and help shape its planned activities. These questionnaires are for consultation and are not a channel for reporting incidents or requesting individual support.

Thank you for helping us design more useful and accessible approaches to women’s online safety.
