Description: This course is for those professionals who understand the necessity for inclusive education that can accommodate the needs of all learners, embracing learners with special needs, in terms of both teaching methods and facilities, and they are interested in becoming generators of progress towards this direction.

Monday
- Introduction to the course
- Getting to know each other
- Expectations and personal goals
- Education as a Human Right (quiz game and discussion)
- “Show me your students and I will tell you who you are” (role play)
- Education For A global commitment. (interactive presentation)
- Homework – “special needs and education in my country: legislation and practice”
Tuesday
- Feedback and questions from Day 1
- Legal frameworks for inclusive education (presentations by the participants)
- Special needs people, special needs schools (discussion)
- The medical model of special needs (simulation exercise)
- The social model of special needs (role play)
- Homework - “Learning Vs Teaching difficulties” (scenario for short drama)
Wednesday
- Feedback and questions from Day 2
- Presentation of our scenarios with the subject “Learning Vs Teaching difficulties”
- The architecture of the inclusive educational centre (exercise)
- Special needs as a mean of progress (discussion)
- McDermott and Varenne’s “Culture as Disability”
- Homework: “A one-day educational excursion schedule, including learners with special needs”
Thursday
- Feedback and questions from Day 3
- Fair of “Inclusive one-day educational excursions”
- From “I want” to “I can” (debate)

- Knowledge of legislation and educational policies at the international level for inclusive education
- Awareness of the role of education professionals for the evolution of educational reality

*Choose double room sharing if you are 2 colleagues from the same organisation willing to share a double room/ or if you have any accompanying person travelling to the venue of the course together with you (we can arrange the accommodation for accompanying persons as well).
