Tuesday 23-05-2017: European Charlemagne Youth Prize: award ceremony in Aachen
The European Charlemagne Youth Prize is a competition established in 2008. People from the EU from 16 to 30 years old can submit projects promoting European understanding and developing the European identity and integration. A prize is awarded to the best three projects, and they will receive €7500, €5000 and €2500 respectively. This year, it is the 10th edition of the Charlemagne Youth Prize; the award ceremony will take place from 11.00 to 13.00 in Aachen, Germany on Tuesday, May 23rd. The winners have been chosen out of 245 submitted projects this year. You can follow the ceremony on social media with #ECYP2017. It is too late to participate this year but think about it for 2018!

Tomorrow’s Europe” Conference in Malta, May 15th and 16th 2017
Luis Alvarado, President of European Youth Forum said: “The European Youth Forum welcomes the Maltese Presidency’s initiative that puts young people at the core of the future of Europe debate. This is the way forward. The European project depends on the ideas, ambition and determination of young people to Youth Up our ‘old continent’ and it is essential that we are given the space to unleash this potential.” The outcomes of the discussions will be presented on May 22nd and 23rd at the Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Council meeting.

EESC celebrates 30 years of Erasmus
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) organised an event on May 18th to celebrate the anniversary of the Erasmus programme, and Erasmus was recognised as being “a milestone in the creation of a European identity”. The President of the EESC said: “Erasmus is a fantastic European acquisition for young people. It must be extended to secondary school students and to workers, especially young apprentices”. European Commission’s EYE Programme
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) is a programme of the European Commission “with an aim to support new or aspiring European entrepreneurs in the crucial phase of establishing, running and growing their business by working together with an experienced entrepreneur from a country outside the Europe”. It is a programme established to foster exchanges, experiences and to provide on-job training. You can learn more about the funding and the eligibility criteria here. The application deadline is on August 30th, 2017!
