Description: The training course will help participants to understand online security, learn to recognise possible threats, defend from cyber-attacks, respond to emergencies as well pass the knowledge forward to their colleagues/students.  The training course will focus on areas vital to modern cybersecurity – malware, password security, encryption as well as the topic of the emerging issue of cyberbullying will be discussed.

The course does not require any prior knowledge of computer security and is useful to anyone interested in improving the knowledge of cybersecurity and the protection of digital information.

Tuesday

  • Cybersecurity threats - keeping up to date
  • Authentication: passwords, access control, etc.
  • Malware: types of malware, preventing infection
  • Cryptography: types and application
  • Network security: firewalls, private networks, etc.

Wednesday

  • Security risks: analysis and management
  • Identifying security threats – key things to look for
  • Recovering from attack/failure
  • Steps to take to prevent cybersecurity attacks

Thursday

  • Cyberbullying: definition, key facts and research
  • Cyberbullying: detection, prevention & Intervention
  • How can I use gained knowledge & tools in practice? – action plan

Friday

  • Summary and course evaluation
  • Feedback & certificates
  • Cultural excursion in the local area
Competences Acquired by Participants

By the end of the course participants will gain:

  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity terminology and common cybersecurity and data protection laws
  • Knowledge of authentication mechanisms
  • Ability to identify main malware types and their propagation
  • Knowledge of malware infection prevention
  • Knowledge of Behavioural Cybersecurity: Applications of Personality Psychology in Cybersecurity
  • Knowledge of cryptography terminology and its applications
  • Knowledge of firewalls, virtual private networks, intrusion detection and prevention tools
  • Ability to identify security risks and prevent them from happening
  • Knowledge of how to recover from security failures
  • Knowledge of cyberbullying: definition, detection, prevention & intervention
  • Improve communication and social skills
  • Improve English language skills

  • Certificate of attendance including description of training content and time input
  • Europass mobility certificates – to be issued by the applicant’s NA

Please note that ‘All in one – single room’ and ‘All in one – double room’ packages are being offered in all locations except London, Dublin, Barcelona, Athens, Porto, Lyon, Split and Pisa, where we have only the ‘Basic’ course package.

  • Accommodation - double room sharing in a 3 or 4-star hotel (6 nights)
  • Full Board (5 days)
  • Administration costs
  • Coffee Breaks
  • Cultural visit

*Choose double room sharing if you are 2 colleagues from the same organisation willing to share a double room/ or if you have any accompanying person travelling to the venue of the course together with you (we can arrange the accommodation for accompanying persons as well).

       3. ‘BASIC’ course PACKAGE - 450€

Note: separate invoices for the training fee only (400 EUR) can be issued upon request from the organisation.
